Welcome to Death

It was just like any other day. Marrissa gets ready for work, slowly and precisely just like every day while her roommates waited outside the locked door to use the restroom. Of course, as with every other work day, she finished her preparations for work, grabbed her animals to take over to her ex's house where they would be nice and comfortable, and drove to work. She worked at The Pizzaria Palace, which she absolutely hated, save for two of her co-workers that she was always sleeping with. She stood there, starting her work day just like every other, at the counter, taking orders and waiting for her turn to make the meals. She hates people, especially bitchy customers, almost as much as she hates her job. One of her co-workers, whom she calls her girlfriend, walks up to her and asks to speak with her alone. Once able to take a break, she agrees to go to the freezer and speak with Carrie. Once there, Carrie begins to rant and rave and throw punches at the walk-in freezer, all due to her boyfriend, Mark, who has threatened to kill her on more than one occasion. She just stands there and listens, for at least an hour, consoling her girlfriend, telling her that she is worth more that what Mark would say she was. Their conversation is cut short by Dan, Marrissa's favorite manager, banging on the freezer door, telling them to get back to work. With a heavy sigh, she drudges back out to begin prepping and making the food. She does not understand why Carrie always returns to Mark, regardless of what he does to her. She knows that this time will be no different. That she would have to call up her roommate and tell him and his fiance, who is also living with them, to be careful and get ready to shoot Mark if he broke into her apartment. Her roommates, she knew, hate her and she could not do anything about that. However, she would pull the poor-me card and make them feel absolutely terrible for something they didn't do, once again. She loves being able to guilt-trip her roommate, who she used to consider a brother. It's his fiance she has to watch out for. Ravion and Katerina were their names and oh how she hates them. Katerina, though, scares her. She knows that if things got physical, Katerina could easily drop her. She shakes her head of these thoughts and realizes she had let one of the pizzas burn while she was spacing out. Another pizza coming out of her paycheck, that is, unless she can bribe her boss once again. Early Bird, her boy toy and lover, was supposed to be coming over tonight. She'd have to lock her door so Ravion and Katerina would not walk in to use the restroom while her and William, or as she called him, Early Bird, were having their usual nighttime sex. All of a sudden, her phone begins buzzing, oh great, a text...from who. Who else is it but Edward, her ex, telling her that he wants to take their dog, Nuke, short for Nuclear, to the dog park that night. She rolls her eyes and responds to his text, letting him know that she is going to be having a game night with her roommates, when in reality she just wants and excuse to not have to leave Early Bird. Glancing at the time on her phone she sighs, relieved now that there is only one more hour of work. She just has to bear through it and she will have a nice, relaxing night. She drudges through the hour, just barely, trying to control her temper with the customers and her co-workers. Why couldn't she have gotten off early tonight? Finally, nine o'clock hits, phone and purse in hand she walks out to her ex's truck and climbs in, starting the beast of a truck and pulls out of the driveway. Just a half hour more and she would be home, changing, showering and waiting the agonizing few hours for Early Bird to show up, seeing as how he is ALWAYS late. She just can not understand why guys never actually seem to care for her. Why they always seem to just use her. She does not, however, take into account that all of the guys she has gone for have been womanizers. She is getting distracted again and snaps out of it, just in time to avoid swerving into on-coming traffic. This is getting dangerous and annoying. She hates spacing out like this. She pulls into her apartment complex and parks in the usual spot near her ex's house and exits the truck, locking it and walking up the flight of stairs and knocking on the door. Edward answers it, moving aside so she can come in. She walks inside and sets her things down, proceeding to grab her kitten, Crabby, and begin petting him. She complains about the long day and about Carrie and Mark and about Katerina and Ravion but at the end, as always, she grabs her two cats and her things and goes back to her apartment to find Katerina and Ravion playing on their computers as with every day. An hour or so later there is a knock at the door and she stands up, walking out of her room over to the door. Opening it up, she was faced with a man named Dominique wanting to talk with her. She welcomes him in, as it was a rough day for her and a familiar face was good. They walk into her room, past Katerina and Ravion, shutting the door behind them. She locks the door and turns around, moving to go sit on her bed. He begins talking, saying how the reason he always misses their dates and does not contact her when he says is because she is rude and not worth his time. How she is not worth the air she breathes and so she should not breath any longer. She is in tears already even before he suddenly and without warning lunged at her, his hand covering her mouth. Her eyes are wide with fear as he used his other hand, while using his body weight to pin her down, to strangle her. He applied more and more pressure, her eyes bulging, her silent screams unheard by Katerina and Ravion. She struggles against him but to no avail. Shortly she passed out and soon her heart stopped, the final beat of her pulse felt only by him. He moves and stands, leaving and shutting the door behind him, bidding Katerina and Ravion a goodnight. Hours later Early Bird knocks on the door and Katerina answers it, letting him in. He knocks on her door, no response. He knocks again...still no response. He opens the door and just before he can react she wakes up, breathing heavy, in a cold sweat. Another nightmare of her death.

And so you have opened the first door into Death's Desires. A twisted series of horror and death. Many more doors remain closed but if you keep digging,  you will delve into a dark and unfamiliar territory. Enjoy. :) And please, do come back for more.

Introduction

Death has many desires and what death wants, death takes.  Or rather, I should be saying "who" death wants, death takes. You see, death is not just something that happens to people, untimely or not but rather it is something else. An entity of sorts. Something that thinks. Methodical and feeling-less as it picks it's way through the world, ever-searching for it's next victim. Death, some may say, is just the beginning but regardless of what you believe, death will come on swift wings of justice. Death does not pick it's victims by race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, no, none of that. Rather, death picks it's victims based on it's own wants. It may not seem fair, but as they say, "Life's not fair." Well guess what...neither is death. With that said, it is time to begin a series of gruesome, twisted tails of life and premature death. Enjoy. :)
